The toolkit for environmental education through water sports is online

The European project “Be Water”, a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, has ended. The project had as partners the Alto Noce River Park (Italy), the Italian Rafting Federation, the Rafting Club "Gimpex Straza” (Slovenia) and the Kajak Kanu klub "Rastocki mlinari" (Croatia).

The closing conference of the project on "Water sports for environmental awareness" took place in Italy, in Malè (Tn), on Friday 03 December 2021. The event was also broadcast live on the facebook pages of the Italian Rafting Federation and World Rafting Federation.

During the last three years of activity, different activities have been organized as: training courses on local and global environmental issues dedicated to rafting, canoeing and kayaking guides, participatory and environmental education activities for tourists and stakeholders, international study views for guides…. all activities aimed at enhancing and using outdoor water sports as a means of education and environmental awareness.

During the project, a "DidActive Toolkit" was also created. It is a kit with videos, infographics and texts made to bring rafting, canoeing and kayaking guides (as well as water sports enthusiasts) closer to river ecology and be more aware of local and international issues on the “use of water”!
